WS_FTP Server Web Transfer Client Help
This program is a “thin”, web-based file transfer application. It allows you to transfer files between your local PC and a file server--where you can store and/or retrieve files.
The list of files and folders on this page are a directory on the server you are logged into. The box indicates the directory you are currently viewing, shown as a path (as you might see in a Windows directory).
The options on this screen are as follows:
- Navigates to a page where you can upload files from your computer to the current directory on your server.
- Downloads the file or files you have selected to the location you specify. (Select a checkbox next to a file before clicking this button).
- Creates a new folder in the current directory on the server.
: If you are using Internet Explorer and have trouble downloading files, you can address this problem by changing your browser's security settings.
Click the checkbox(es) next to the item(s) you want, before selecting either of these options:
- Renames the file or folder you select.
- Deletes the file or folder you select.
These four buttons assist you in navigating this page:
- Refreshes the items shown to reflect any recent changes not presently reflected on the page.
- Navigates to a new directory location that you have entered in the box.
- Navigates to the next level up in the directory.
- Navigates to the top level of your user directory.
The button launches this application's online help.
To download files:
- Select the checkbox next to the file you want to download.
- Click .
- Select the destination folder on your computer, then click to transfer the file.
There is an alternative way to download a file: click the file name to start the download.
When downloading multiple files, do not exit the page (Transfer.aspx) while downloads are in progress, as this will cancel the remaining downloads.
If you are using Internet Explorer, you must download files one at a time.
To upload files:
- Select the destination folder on your server (where you want to upload the file).
- Click . The Upload Files page opens.
- Click the button next to the box and navigate to the file you want to upload.
- Select in the Browse dialog.
- Repeat steps 2 and 3 to select multiple files, as needed.

At the top of the page, you will see:
- The server you are connected to, and your user name and the host name you are logged into, for example:
- . Lets you change the password for your account, if allowed by the server.
- . A list of Frequently Asked Questions about this application is available.
- . Exits the current session and displays the login page.
