Adding a Pager Notification
Alpha Pager Settings
- Click to enable the pager notification to occur when a monitored device fails.
- Enter the phone number to dial in the text box.
- Enter the password for the pager, if required.
- Enter the pager ID (pager identification number) in the text box.
- Enter a Modem Init String in the text box. We recommend the default string of ATEOQOV1X4. What is expected in this string are the modem commands for "Command Echo Off" (EO), "Result Codes On" (QO), "Verbal Results" (V1), and "Result Codes Displayed" (X4).
- Choose one of the following options from the list box. The correct setting for the pager type (protocol) depends on the paging service provider. TAP and SMS-TAP are typical for the United States, NTT is used by most Japanese paging systems, and UCP is typical of European paging systems.
- Choose one of the following options from the list box. Baud rate is the speed measured in bits per second at which the serial port will communicate with the modem.
- Choose one of the following options from the list box. Choose the port to which your modem is attached.
- Select this check box if your parity is 8N1. Otherwise, clear the check box.
The TAP protocol requires the 7E1 setting.
- Click to save your settings. An "Update Successful" message and the time of the update appear.
