Licensing

In the Licensing tab, System Administrators can:

• View the base serial number
• Upload a new license file
• View all Agent licenses, their serial numbers, and activation dates, including:
  • Agent licenses that are available for assignment to a MOVEit server
  • Agent licenses that are assigned to a MOVEit server
• Assign an Agent license to a MOVEit server
• Disconnect an Agent license from a MOVEit server

• To manage Ipswitch Analytics licenses:

1. Sign in as a System Administrator.
2. Go to the SETTINGS module and select the Licensing tab.

   

   The blue section at the top of the page includes:

   • Base Serial Number: Controls the number of Agent licenses. The base license allows for two Ipswitch Analytics Agent licenses. Click Upload License to select a new license file if necessary (if you upload a new license file, the Base Serial Number may change). If you purchase "add on" provisions, the Base Serial Number will stay the same.

     The Base Serial Number is used as the filename of your license file. Each Base Serial Number is tagged to a specific reporting server.

   • Licenses: The number of Agent licenses you have purchased.
   • Available: The number of unused Agent licenses that you can assign to additional MOVEit servers. This number will always be a subset of the Licenses number. Each MOVEit server requires its own Ipswitch Analytics Agent license.

   

   The License list shows details about each Agent license:

   Unavailable Agent Licenses: Agent licenses that are currently in use (and are therefore unavailable for selection) display the name of the MOVEit server in blue. Click the blue Agent name to view its MOVEit server version, the Agent version, and the date when the Agent made first contact with the MOVEit server. The MOVEit server's IP address also displays beneath the Agent name, along with the MOVEit server type (DMZ or Central).

   

   Click next to any Agent license to see when it was first activated, and the Agent's serial number.

   

   Click at any time to release this Agent license. That Agent will cease reporting data from that MOVEit server to the Ipswitch Analytics Server, and it will no longer appear in the Monitor dashboard. You can then assign this Agent license to a different MOVEit server.

   Available Agent Licenses: Agent licenses that are unassigned to any MOVEit server display Available for Use in green. The type of MOVEit server to which it can be assigned (DMZ or Central) also displays.

   

   To assign an available Agent license, click . The Select server to license dialog box opens. Select one of the MOVEit servers, and then click OK.

   Important: The list contains only the MOVEit servers on which you have installed an Agent. To add another MOVEit server to the Ipswitch Analytics system, install an Agent on it.

   If a server has an outdated license, you must update the license before you select the server.

   The Agent will begin reporting from that MOVEit server to the Ipswitch Analytics server.
