Organization/User Field

Summary or Detailed*

Description

Organization

N/A

For MOVEit DMZ, the organization name. For MOVEit Central and Ipswitch Analytics Server, the server name.

Username

N/A

Name of the user who performed the action. "Unknown" may appear for unsuccessful logins, or if logged as "unknown" on the server.

MOVEit DMZ: Actions performed by the DMZ system log Username as Automation.

MOVEit Central: MOVEit Central systems do not maintain a list of users. Most tasks (workflows) occur within the context of a Windows service and are not associated with a user. Access is managed by the rights granted to Windows users and user groups. The system records login and logout to the console application, but does not record the specific user information. A set of MOVEit Central servers can also be managed remotely from a single Central system. Therefore for MOVEit Central, Username may display the server name, local user (for administrative actions), the name of a user who logged in to run a task, or unknown.

Note: A user who has been inactive since Ipswitch Analytics was installed will not be included in historical reports.

Target

N/A

The target of the action, such as:

  • User
  • File
  • Host
  • IP that was locked out
  • Organization
  • System setting
  • Session ID
  • Group name/ID
  • Announcement text
  • Package and file quota information
  • Expiration policy

Possible Ipswitch Analytics Server targets include:

  • Ipswitch Analytics user
  • Ruleset
  • Ipswitch Analytics Agent
  • License file
  • Template name (or "new" if a custom template)

Note: Target will be empty if the action was a login.

Important: If a user opens a stock template in Ipswitch Analytics, adds fields to it and then clicks Run, Target will show the original stock template name but not the additional fields added to it.

Important: If a user creates a custom template in Ipswitch Analytics and clicks Run before saving the template, Target will be empty because the template did not have a name.

* A field can contain either Detailed information about a single transfer, process, or action, or Summary information about multiple transfers, processes, or actions that have been aggregated for higher-level analysis. N/A means the field appears regardless of the report output type selected.
