Resiliency - Common Procedures - Database Resynchronization
This procedure describes how to resync the slave database node
to the master database node. This procedure is typically performed during
emergency scheduled downtime if the slave database reports replication errors.
(If the slave node is reporting replication errors,
it will NOT be able to take over seamlessly
from the master node during a failover event.
Normal MOVEit DMZ operation is, however, not affected by replication errors.)
- From the Advanced Resiliency tab in the MOVEit DMZ Config program, shut down
all services EXCEPT MySQL on all resilient nodes. (Start with the SLAVE node, then
shut down services on the MASTER node, then shut down services on any other
resilient nodes.)
- On the MASTER, press the "Record Replication" button. Wait for a "complete"
or "OK" message.
- On the slave press the "Copy Database" button. Wait for a "complete" or "OK"
message. (This procedure may take several minutes; open the "debug" window using
the "Show Debug" button if you would like to see a running progress report.)
- On the slave, press the "Use Replication Info" button.
- Start resiliency services (Web Resil and DB Resil) on all resilient
nodes. (Start with the MASTER node, then the SLAVE node, then any other resilient
nodes.)
Troubleshooting
If the Copy Database step fails, make sure all network interface devices used by the
resiliency cluster to talk to each other have Microsoft File and Printer Sharing enabled.
