Upload Basics

The first steps for uploading and sharing your first file, package, or folder in MOVEit Transfer are:

Sign in as Administrator *

—Or—

Use SysAdmin authority and act as Admin of a particular MOVEit Transfer org.

* (or as another user other than SysAdmin)

SysAdmins and Admin user permissions overlap in some ways, except:

SysAdmins create organizations and manage organizational settings.
Admins have full management capability of files (including upload).
SysAdmins are super users that can act as MOVEit Transfer Admins.

Upload File(s)

Drag and drop file(s) to into the WebUI:

Or by using one of the following:

Upload Wizard. (HOME > Upload Files... [Launch the Upload Wizard])
ActiveX Wizard. Available to IE Users. (Requires installation on the user's local machine.)
MOVEit Client. (Requires installation on the user's local machine.)
MOVEit Transfer RESTful API.

Create users that can perform admin-level tasks (fileadmins)

Uploads that use a vanilla POST request from the WebUI (non-wizard/non-Transfer-API) are subject to an IIS size restraint set by Microsoft. When set to the default setting, the maximum default content length value is about 27 MB. This value can be adjusted in the IIS Manager.
