The Edit Information About This User page opens.
Make changes, and at the bottom of the page, click Change User Information.
User ID: An internal ID that is automatically generated when this user is created. This value cannot be changed; remains the same for the life of the account.
If you are creating a new user, this value does not appear until you fill out the Add a new user page and click Add User
Username: The login name of this account. Required.
When creating the user: username can contain any character in the ISO-Latin-1 (ISO/IEC 8859-1) character set, except for the slash character (\). By default, username must be unique in the organization (which means that the same username can be used in multiple organizations). The SysAdmin can change this setting so that a username must be unique in the MOVEit Transfer system.
When changing user settings: If home folders derive their name from usernames, if you change the username, you are prompted to also change the home folder name for this user. Changing the home folder name might affect existing automated transfers.
Note: By default, home folder names are derived from the full name.
Best Practice: Derive home folder names from usernames (which are usually changed less frequently) rather than full names. This practice is especially useful if you anticipate several full name changes in an environment where automated transfers are wide-spread.
Full Name: The full name of this account.
If home folders derive their name from full names, and you change the Full Name, you are prompted to also change the user's home folder name. Changing the home folder name may affect automated transfers already in place.
Email Address(es): Email to which Notification emails for this user are sent. Separate multiple addresses by commas. Leaving this field blank sets the Email Notifications field to Off.
If you provide email address(es), you must set the Email Notifications field to On or No + Admin.
If you leave the Email Address field blank, it sets the Email Notifications field to Off.

Preferred Email Format: Format for notifications sent to this user. Options: HTML, Text
Language: Default language that is used when this user signs in to the Web and FTP interfaces, and in notifications sent to this user.
Notes: Field for administrator notes. Text that you enter here has no effect on the system. The field is for information only.
Tip: To DISABLE notifications on your automated users, especially any FileAdmin users used by MOVEit Automation to connect to MOVEit Transfer, leave the Email Address field blank. A blank email address is treated as a disabled notification.
