Notification Settings

Folder owners and Admin-level users can change MOVEit Transfer Folder and Package event notifications (which are email alerts triggered by upload/download actions). This folder-specific capability in MOVEit Transfer provides different notification options for both content senders and recipients. You can apply this capability to both Folder content and Package (Ad Hoc) events.

Folder notifications can be triggered by a file or package event, such as:

Upload or update confirmation.
Delivery confirmation (or download).
Delete.
Sharing folder access.

Notifications are distributed based on permissions granted to a user or group and their relation to the data transfer (sender or recipient).

Senders

Users that upload to the folder.

Senders get upload confirmations, and can also get:

Delivery Receipts. This is sent to the sender when another user downloads a file.
Notice that the file (sent by the sender) was deleted from MOVEit before being read. This is controlled by the Alert Sender if File is Not Downloaded option.

Recipients

Users/groups with NOTIFY permission selected for this folder.

Recipients get event notices such as:

New file/package.
Deleted file.
Shared folder (by the sharer)

Note: Users with Secure Folder Sharing permissions can also send one-time messages when they apply permissions to a shared folder on a user/folder basis. For details, see the Secure Folder Sharing walkthrough.

How Do I Change Notifications for a Specific Folder?

To change a folder's notification settings:

In the left pane, click FOLDERS. In the list of folders, click the gear icon () for the folder. Locate the Change Notifications section.

This table describes the options and controls you can apply from the Change Notification panel. Changes you make here apply to notification behavior for a specific folder.

Setting and Description	Options
Notification Styles Determine who gets notified when a new file is uploaded.	Normal. Notifications about new files uploaded by someone other than the folder owner are sent to the folder owner and the recipients. Inbox/Outbox. Folder owner notified only. Notifications about new files uploaded by a user other than the folder owner are sent to the folder owner only. Inbox/Outbox is helpful if you use MOVEit Transfer as a part of an incoming/outgoing message workflow or intraoffice communications.
Upload Confirmation to Sender	No. Messages are never sent. Useful if the user is really an automated procedure. Yes (immediately). Messages are sent as soon as a file is successfully uploaded. Ideal for most human users. Yes (include in Upload Summary after X minutes). Every X minutes, an automated process looks for new messages and collects a list of them in a single email message. Best for extremely busy folders, such as webposts. Yes (after X (Days\|Hours\|Minutes)). The message is sent after the configured amount of time. This option is available only for Alert Sender if File is Not Downloaded.
New File Alert to Recipient
Delivery Receipt to Sender Sent in the following circumstances: When another user downloads the file When the file is deleted from MOVEit before being read.
