Installing the MessageWay Interactive Reporting Maintenance Release:
NOTE: This Maintenance Release is a complete install of
MessageWay Interactive Reporting. But the install instructions are
different whether you are an existing MWReporting customer or a new MWReporting
customer, so make sure to follow the appropriate install instructions below.
Existing MWReporting customer install
instructions:
NOTE: The following instructions require you
to uninstall your current MWReporting installation before installing this Maintenance
Release. DO NOT DELETE your current MessageWay or
Datamart databases or tables.
1) Backup for future reference any MWReporting files that you may have
created and or modified, for example appserver.keystore. NOTE:
if you have modified the server.xml file in a previous
release, your changes will need to be merged into the server.xml
file installed with this release, as an older server.xml
file is not compatible with this release. 2) Download the
Maintenance Release install package sent by Ipswitch and unzip. 3)
Step 2 will automatically create a new subdirectory named after the
Maintenance Release install package. 4) Logon
to the perimeter server as
"root". 5) Locate the install program (MessageWayInteractiveReporting.bin)
in the subdirectory structure created in step 2
and copy to the mwayinstall directory (create if does not
exist) on the perimeter server. 6) Review and perform the section 'Uninstall MessageWay Interactive
Reporting' (step 1) in the MessageWay Interactive Reporting
Installation and Configuration Guide.pdf included in this package
to manage the transition to this Maintenance Release.
New MWReporting customer install
instructions:
1) Download the
Maintenance Release install package sent by Ipswitch and unzip. 2)
Step 1 will automatically create a new subdirectory named after the
Maintenance Release install package. 3) Logon
to the perimeter server as
"root" and the database server as the "owner" of the MessageWay database.
4) Locate the create table scripts tarball (MWIR_SQL_release.tgz)
in the subdirectory structure created in step 1 and copy to the
mwayinstall directory (create if does not exist) on the database server.
