Installing the MessageWay Web
Client Maintenance Release:
1) Download the
Maintenance Release install zip file
(mwweb-6.1.0-win32-install.zip). 2) Unzip the mwweb-6.1.0-win32-install.zip
to a subdirectory called mwweb-6.1.0-win32-install
3) cd to the newly created mwweb-6.1.0-win32-install
subdirectory. 4) No automated uninstall was provided with Web Client MR04.
To uninstall MR04, review and perform the instructions in
Uninstalling Web Client MR04 on Windows.pdf (included in this
package), skip next step 5 below (already covered in Uninstalling
Web Client MR04 on Windows.pdf) and proceed to step 6 below,
ignoring section 'Uninstall the Web Client' in the MessageWay Web Client
Installation and Configuration.pdf. 5) If you have rebranded Web Client, review and perform the
instructions in Custom Branding Backups Pre-6.1.0 Web Client on
Windows.pdf (included in this package), and ignore step 4 in
section 'Uninstall the Web Client' in the MessageWay Web Client
Installation and Configuration.pdf (referenced in step 6 below).
6) Review and perform the sections 'Pre-installation
Tasks', 'Uninstall the Web Client' and 'Install
the Web Client' in the MessageWay Web Client
Installation and Configuration.pdf included in this package to
manage the transition to this maintenance release.
INSTALL NOTE: Step 4 in section 'Uninstall the Web Client'
in the MessageWay Web Client
Installation and Configuration.pdf pertains to backing up
branding files for Web Client 6.1.0 prior to the uninstall. But
existing Web Client customers will have pre-6.1.0 installed, and the backup
procedures for branding files has changed. So if you have rebranded
Web Client, follow instructions in Custom Branding Backups Pre-6.1.0
Web Client on Windows.pdf (step 4 or step 5 above), and ignore step 4 in
section 'Uninstall the Web Client' in the MessageWay Web Client
Installation and Configuration.pdf (part of step 6 above).
You will still need to follow step 3 and step 5 in section 'Uninstall the Web Client'
in the MessageWay Web Client
Installation and Configuration.pdf.
INSTALL NOTE: As of this 6.1.0 release of Web Client, the branding
instructions have changed, which may impact any custom branding or logos you
may have. If you need any help converting to the new branding
instructions, contact MessageWay Technical Support.
