Restarting the Flow Collector service
If the WhatsUp Health Threshold reports that the Flow Collector Service has stopped, you must restart the Ipswitch Flow Collector service. This service must be running at all times in order for your network devices to send flow information to WhatsUp. For more information, see Stopping or restarting the collector.
If this service has stopped unexpectedly, it may have crashed. To assist Technical Support in locating the source of the failure, please perform the following:
- Open the Windows Event Viewer from Administrative Tools or the Computer Management console.
- Locate an Error entry with BWCollector.Net.exe listed as the Source.
- Use the Technical Support request form on the WhatsUp Gold web site (http://www.whatsupgold.com/support/technical-support.aspx) to submit the details of this error, along with the version of Windows installed on the WhatsUp computer, including any service pack and CPU architecture (32-bit or 64-bit). Please also include the version of WhatsUp Gold installed. You can find version information on the WhatsUp Gold About box (on the WhatsUp Gold console at ).
