Create/Edit a WhatsUp Gold task
To create a new task:
- From the WhatsUp Gold web interface, go to s. The Task Library dialog appears.
- Click . The Select Web Task Type dialog appears.
- Select a type of task from the list, then click . The New WhatsUp Gold Task dialog appears.
- Enter or select the appropriate information:
- . Enter a unique name for the task. This name displays in the Task Library.
- . (Optional) Enter additional information about the task. This description displays next to the monitor in the Task Library.
- . Select this option to begin configuring the task's schedule. For more information, see Configuring tasks.
- Use this section to configure a schedule on which you would like the task performed. You can configure the task to run daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, or on a custom schedule.
- Click to save changes.
To edit an existing task:
- From the WhatsUp Gold web interface, go to . The Task Library dialog appears.
- Choose a task from the list, then click . The Edit WhatsUp Gold Task dialog appears.
- Enter or select the appropriate information:
- . Enter a unique name for the task. This name displays in the Task Library.
- . (Optional) Enter additional information about the task. This description displays next to the monitor in the Task Library.
- . Select this option to begin configuring the task's schedule. For more information, see Configuring tasks.

: At this time, task pass and fail events are not logged in the WhatsUp Gold log reports. While errors are logged for all non-database backup tasks, they are not for database backup tasks.
