About the General: Database Size report
This home-level dashboard report provides graphical illustration of the database size at the time of the last poll. Placing this dashboard report in a dashboard allows you to view your database size at a glance.
The graph uses color to show the current status:
- . Above 75%
- . Between 50% and 75%
- . 50% or less
Under the graph, the database size is listed in MBs, along with the percentages for used and free space.
: Graphs will only show for Microsoft SQL Server Express Editions, as other editions of Microsoft SQL Server have no size limitations.
To configure this dashboard report in WhatsUp Gold:
- In the title bar of the dashboard report pane, click . The Configure Report dialog appears.
- Enter or select the appropriate information for the following boxes.
- . Enter a title for the dashboard report.
- . Select the type of graph you would like the report to display.
- . A 3-D pie graph that displays available database space in green, and used space in red.
- . A semi-circle graph (much like a car speedometer) with a pointer that indicates the database percentage used.
- r. A horizontal bar graph (much like a ruler) with a pointer that indicates the database percentage used.
- . A vertical bar graph (much like a thermometer) with a pointer that indicates the database percentage used.
- . A numerical representation of the database percentage used. The percentage is displayed in colors that coincide with the WhatsUp threshold colors:
Along with the various types of graphs to choose from, you can also pick the display size of the graph (small, medium, or large).
