Program Options - Web Server

The following options control the WhatsUp Gold Web Server: they allow you to turn the web interface on and off and grant general access to it.

Enable Web servers

Note: The following web server port settings apply to the WhatsUp Gold web server only.

• Enable Web server on port. Check the box for this option and enter a port number in which to run the Web server. The default port is 80.
• Enable SSL Web server on port. Check the box for this option and enter a port number in which to run the SSL Web server. The default port is 443.

Web report access from Windows console

Important: Reports are no longer viewable on the WhatsUp Gold console and are only viewable on the web interface.

• Web server address. List the localhost (127.0.0.1) as the url for the WhatsUp Gold web interface.
• Web server port. Enter the port number for the Web Server. If you do not have SSL enabled, the port is what you specify for the Web server. If you enable SSL, the port will be the port you specify for the SSL Web server.

  Note: The Web server port must match the port on which Web Server is running. For example, the Web server is running on port 8088, so the Web server port should be specified as 8088. If you enable SSL, the Web server port must match the port on which the SSL Web server port is running.

• Use SSL access. Check this option to enable SSL access.

Note: The SSL Web Server is encrypted and offers more security in general. We suggest that you use the SSL Web Server if you have the ability to do so. For more information, see About the WhatsUp Gold default SSL certificates.

Automated report login from Windows console

• Automatically login to access reports. Checking this option enables users to view the reports overview page on the web interface without having to log-in first. Not checking this option will prompt users to log-in to the web interface before viewing the reports overview page.
• User name. Enter a user name to automatically use to access reports from the Windows console.
• Password. Enter a password to automatically use to access reports from the Windows console.
