Scheduled Discovery Scan
How to get here
- Open the Web interface Scheduled Discovery Settings:
- From the web interface, click . The GO menu appears.
- If the WhatsUp section is not visible, click . The WhatsUp section of the GO menu appears.
- Select . The Discovery Console appears.
- Click . The Scheduled Discovery Settings dialog appears.

- Open the console Scheduled Discovery Settings:
- From the console main menu, select . The Discovery Console appears.
- Click . The Scheduled Discovery Settings dialog appears.
Use the Scheduled Discovery Settings dialog to configure recurring discovery scans. From here, you can also configure email notifications that distribute information about the results of the scheduled discovery. Select the Discovery Settings options on the left to configure the discovery, then use the Schedule Information section to set up the discovery schedule.
: Scheduled discovery replaces the active discovery feature from versions released before WhatsUp Gold v14.
- . Use the instructions in Discovery Settings to configure the recurring discovery.
- . Enter the , , , and for the discovery schedule.
- . This section of the discovery schedule changes based on the selected Interval. Select the schedule options you want to use for the discovery schedule.
- . Select this option to have the scheduled discovery scan devices that were identified in a previous discovery. If you use this option, discovery scans existing devices for new monitors that could be added to the device. For example, the new discovery could identify that a new SNMP server (mail server) has been added to an existing device.
- . Select this option to notify user(s) of the scheduled discovery changes.
- . Select this option to enable the current scheduled discovery settings.
