Top Senders
This workspace report shows the devices generating the most traffic traveling in the selected direction (Inbound, Outbound, Inbound and Outbound, or Bounce) on the selected interface.
You can sort traffic by bytes, packets, or flows. By default the report sorts by bytes and provides a list of the top senders by number of bytes. Sorting by packets provides information on the top senders by number of packets, while sorting by flows provides insight into the top senders by number of flows. These alternate sorting methods allow you to monitor and identify hosts that are the largest consumers of interface resources other than bandwidth.
- . Displays the hosts that are the top senders on the interface.
- . When sorting on packets, displays the number of packets sent by the host during the date range.
- . When sorting on flows, displays the number of flows created by the host during the date range.
- . Displays the bytes per second for the report category.
- . Displays the percentage of the total available bandwidth used by the report category.
: Usage is displayed as N/A if a speed is not specified for the interface. You can set this speed on the Flow Interface dialog. To navigate to the Flow Interface dialog, right-click on the interface on which you want to set the speed, then click .
- . Displays the percentage ranking of the item within the top "n" items of the report category.
: You can hover over a host name to display popup information about the host name's IP address. If you right-click on the host-name, a filter will be created that uses the host as the filter criteria and the Interface Details workspace will reload with this filter applied.
: You can hover over the icon preceding the Senders host name to display WHOIS information about the host. This information is gathered using a WHOIS query of the American Registry for Internet Numbers (ARIN).

About interface traffic directions
: For illustration purposes, the descriptions and diagrams in the table below assume that traffic is passing from an internal interface to an external interface or vice versa. In reality, traffic may pass from an internal interface to another internal interface, an external interface to another external interface, or traffic may be routed out the same interface it enters.

About workspace reports and filters
Workspace reports only show the data matching the filters applied to the full report. If no filters are applied, all data for the selected time period are shown. For more information on filtering, see Filtering data in a view.
