Add/Edit New Telnet Credential
How to get here
- Go to the Credentials Library.
- From the web interface, click . The GO menu appears.
- If the WhatsUp section is not visible, click . The WhatsUp section of the GO menu appears.
- Select . The Credentials Library dialog appears.
- Click . The Select Credential Type dialog appears.
- Select , then click . The Add Telnet Credential Type dialog appears.
Use this dialog to create a new Telnet credential type for use with WhatsUp Gold and WhatsConfigured plug-in. For more information, see Using Credentials.
- . Enter a name for the credential type. This name appears in the Credentials Library.
- . Enter a short description for this credential. The description appears with the name in the Credentials Library to help you differentiate it from other credential types.
- . Enter a username. This username is used to authenticate to the device.
- . Enter a password. This password is used with the above username to authenticate to the device.
- . Re-enter the authentication password a second time to confirm that you entered the password correctly.
- . Enter the password that enables the router to go to privileged EXEC mode, which enables you to configure the router. If the username and password provided above provide the privilege needed to run the required commands, the enable/privilege password is not needed.
- . Re-enter the authentication privilege password a second time to confirm that you entered the password correctly.
- . Enter the router's Telnet port. The default Telnet port is 23.
- . Enter a timeout (in seconds) for the length of time the connection should be attempted. The default timeout is 10 seconds.
