Configuring Protocol Settings
Use the Protocol Settings dialog to configure the protocol settings (for ICMP, SNMP, or SSH) that you want to use for network discovery.
- discovery requires the SNMP read community information, timeout settings, and retry counts.
- discovery requires the timeout settings and retry counts.
- discovery requires the User Name, Password, and Port used to attempt an SSH connection.
To configure Protocol Settings:
- From the main menu of the WhatsConnected console,select . The Protocol Settings dialog appears.
To create a new protocol setting:
- Right-click a supported protocol, then click . The protocol editor dialog appears in the right pane.
- Enter the protocol settings in the protocol editor.
To edit protocol settings:
- Use the protocol explorer tree to locate the protocol and specific settings you want to edit.
- In the protocol list, select with the protocol setting. The protocol editor dialog appears in the right pane.
- Enter the settings you want to modify in the protocol editor.
To delete a protocol setting:
Right-click a protocol setting in the tree view, then click . The protocol setting is deleted from the list.
Click to save changes.
