Fan

The Fan Monitor checks manufacturer-specific device fans and cooling devices, such as active and passive cooling components, to see if they are enabled and returning values signaling they are working properly.

First, the monitor first checks if the monitored device is manufactured by Dell, Cisco, HP, or EMC. Then, it checks for any enabled fans and other cooling devices. If a fan is disabled, the monitor ignores it. If a fan does not return one of the following values, the monitor is considered Down.

Note: Not all types of device fans and cooling components can be monitored.

Only a unique name and description are required to successfully configure this monitor, though you can set the SNMP timeout and number of retries as well as enable Use in Rescan if desired.
