Wireless Clients
Wireless Clients report reveals clients connected to your wireless network and what is known about them. If the client name is not available or cannot be determined, the client's MAC address is displayed. The client name is determined by Wi-Fi authentication and may not be present under all authentication schemes.
Select a client and click the button to organize clients into an existing wireless client group. You can also click to access the Wireless Client Group library where you can create new groups, edit existing ones, or remove them from the application.
: If a client is displayed as 0.0.0.0, this indicates the device's controller is unable to obtain its IP address or the access point cannot determine it.
- . Device name or string identifier. Click any client name to display the Wireless Client Details dashboard view for that device.
- . Client MAC address.
- . Client IP address.
- . The access point to which the client was connected.
- . Service Set Identifier of the connected access point.
- . Date and time when the client first connected.
- . Date and time when the client disconnected.
- . The average amount of data received by the client device from the access point during the session.
- . The average amount of data transmitted by the client device to the access point during the session.
- . Percent of the interval connected between the first seen and last seen marks.
The following additional columns are hidden but can be enabled using the menu accessible from the column headers:
- . Name of the user logged in to the client device.
- . Name of the group to which the client belongs. See Managing Wireless Client Groups for additional detail.
- . The classification of physical device broadcasting the SSID.
- . Total data sent.
- . Total data received.

: Trend lines represent a moving average that can be compared with line and area graphs to reveal peak and sub peak intervals, collision periods, and indicate transmission problems.
: This report only returns Wireless Clients metrics for devices that already have the appropriate WMI or SNMP credentials. For more information, see Using Credentials.
Export report data
Report data can be exported from WhatsUp Gold, reused, and distributed in multiple formats. Select () from the Dashboard Options () menu. After the report has been expanded, select the Export Data icon to access the following options:
- . Generate and download a .htm file presenting your report data as it appears in the WhatsUp Gold user interface.
- . Generate and download a .xml spreadsheet containing your report data.
- .Generate and download a .csv file containing your report data.
- Generate and download a .txt file containing your report data.
- . Set a recurring date and time, format, and email destination for report data export.
: Current report data file format options are only applicable to export schedules created using WhatsUp Gold version 2021 and later. Any report data export schedule created using an earlier version of WhatsUp Gold will still result in a .PDF output until that schedule is removed from, then recreated in the Scheduled Reports Library using the latest version of WhatsUp Gold.
