WhatsUp Gold Agent Overview

Dedicated clients, referred to in WhatsUp Gold as Agents, can now be used to assist with specific types of data collection and improve the application's ability to scale for larger networks. Each individual agent is configured in WhatsUp Gold, then deployed automatically or manually to a user-selected network device. All Agents deployed on your network are managed by a dedicated service (agentservice.exe) running in WhatsUp Gold. Please note, currently, Agent deployment and usage is fully dedicated to enhancing WhatsUp Gold Log Management by enabling the application to collect greater quantities of log data from devices previously configured to serve as log data sources.
