Ad Hoc Transfer Package Settings

How to get here

Use these settings to configure the package settings for the <AHT> module. A package consists of one or more files that an <AHT> user sends to a recipient. These settings determine the default and maximum settings for a package, for all users. An individual user can override some of these defaults by setting the options for an individual package, but cannot override the maximum. These settings are applied to all hosts, and affect all users of the Ad Hoc Transfer web interface and the Ad Hoc Transfer plugin for Outlook.

Limits

These settings determine the limits on package size, how many times a file can be downloaded, and how long the file will be available. These settings apply to all <AHT> users.

The maximum package size set here and the maximum transfer size setting for Microsoft IIS should be set to the same value. The maximum transfer setting for Microsoft IIS, sometimes called maxRequestLength, is usually specified in the web.config file for IIS, but this varies depending on the IIS version. See Microsoft's IIS documentation for information about this setting.

Send Options

These settings determine whether to send a notification to the sender when the recipient downloads a file from the Download Files page, and whether the recipient must supply an email address or password in order to access the files sent (in other words, to get access to the Download Files page). The settings affect how these options are presented to the user.
