From the top menu, select Modules > Ad Hoc Transfer Package Settings. The Ad Hoc Transfer Package Settings opens.
Use these settings to configure the package settings for the <AHT> module. A package consists of one or more files that an <AHT> user sends to a recipient. These settings determine the default and maximum settings for a package, for all users. An individual user can override some of these defaults by setting the options for an individual package, but cannot override the maximum. These settings are applied to all hosts, and affect all users of the Ad Hoc Transfer web interface and the Ad Hoc Transfer plugin for Outlook.
Limits
These settings determine the limits on package size, how many times a file can be downloaded, and how long the file will be available. These settings apply to all <AHT> users.
Maximum package size. The total size (in KB, MB, or GB) of all files in a package cannot exceed this amount. If a package exceeds this maximum, the transfer will fail, and the user will see an error message. The default setting is 1 GB.
The maximum package size set here and the maximum transfer size setting for Microsoft IIS should be set to the same value. The maximum transfer setting for Microsoft IIS, sometimes called maxRequestLength, is usually specified in the web.config file for IIS, but this varies depending on the IIS version. See Microsoft's IIS documentation for information about this setting.
Maximum package expiration. The maximum length of time, in days or hours, recipients have to download a given file. The Sender can set this value (Files expire in __ days/hours) for each package, up this maximum value.
Default package expiration. This default value will be used for all packages where the Sender does not set the value for Files expire in __ days/hours.
Maximum downloads per file. The number of times recipients may download a given transferred file. The Sender can set this value (Files also expire after __ downloads) for each package, up to this maximum value.
Default downloads per file. This default value will be used for all packages where the Sender does not set the value for Files also expire after __ downloads.
Send Options
These settings determine whether to send a notification to the sender when the recipient downloads a file from the Download Files page, and whether the recipient must supply an email address or password in order to access the files sent (in other words, to get access to the Download Files page). The settings affect how these options are presented to the user.
Require email notification when files are downloaded. Select this option to enable the Send email notification when files are downloaded option for all users, which means the user always receives a notification when files are downloaded.
Require password protection on all packages. Select this option to enable the Password protect files option for all users, which means recipients will always have to use a password to access the Download Files page. Users cannot override this setting. If you do not select this option, users can choose whether to require a password when they send files. The settings below determine how password rules are presented to the user.
Passwords are displayed to the Sender on the Send Files and on the Package Status page. It is the sender's responsibility to provide recipients with the password by sending it separately from the package by phone, fax, email, etc., in accordance with your organization's security policy.
Allow sender to type their own package passwords. Let each sender create a password when sending a package. On the Send Files page, the user will use the Use the following password option, and two text boxes to enter and confirm the password. If you do not select this option, the user cannot enter their own password.
Automatically create package passwords and force senders to use them. Generate a strong password for each package and enforce its use. The password is displayed on the Send Files page and also, after the package is sent, on the Package Status page. The user cannot override this password.
