Session Manager
How to get here
From the top menu, select . The Session Manager page opens.
This page provides:
- statistical information about the current connections to the servers
- statistical information about the number of files sent, received and deleted
- a list of all current connections to the servers
The data on this page is an aggregation of the data for each server that uses the shared configuration data. For default installations, this includes the FTP and SSH servers. For more advanced installations, such as server clusters, this page might show data aggregated from any number of sources.
: The information reported is aggregated from the last service restart of each service.
: The information presented on this page is always changing. As such, the information presented is only valid at the time the page is rendered. Any new information may take up to twenty seconds to appear in the Session Manager.
Connections
Session Manager will not display connections for users logged in as "admin," because "admin" is a special user.
- . This value represents the total number of connections to the servers that are active when the page rendered.
- . This value represents the highest number of concurrent connections recorded at one time.
- . The number of times connections were attempted, including cases where username and/or password authentication was not attempted.
- . The number of times that username and/or password authentication has been attempted.
Files
- . This value represents the number of transfers from the server to clients ("downloads" from the client perspective) that are in progress.
- . This value represents the number of transfers from clients to the server ("uploads" from the client perspective) that are in progress.
- . This value represents the number of files sent from the server to clients.
- . This value represents the number of files sent from clients to the server.
- . This value represents the number of files deleted from the server.
Sessions
This section shows all sessions currently active on the servers. For each session, the following information is also provided:
- . This column shows the IP address of the client.
- . This column shows the host to which the client is connected.
- . This column shows the user name that the client used during authentication.
- . This column shows the name of the folder where the client is currently active.
- . This column shows the last command issued by the client.
- . This column shows the number of kilobytes sent from the server to the client during the current session.
- . This column shows the number of kilobytes the server received from the client during the current session.
- . This column indicates the amount of time that has elapsed since the client issued the last command.
- . This column indicates whether or not the client is currently transferring a file.
- . This column indicates the type of listener, FTP or SSH, to which the client is connected.
You can select one or more of the active sessions and click to forcefully terminate the sessions. Ending HTTP sessions is not supported.
: You cannot end sessions that users initiate with the WS_FTP Server Web Transfer Module on this screen. (This is due to the fact that these sessions are controlled by IIS.)
: When you click , the selected session or sessions are flagged for termination, but there may be up to a fifteen second delay before the session is terminated. During that delay, the session continues to appear in the list of sessions.
