Importing SSH user keys

If you have one or more SSH user keys from other applications (such as an SSH client), you can import them for use with WS_FTP Server.

To import SSH user keys and associate them with a user:

  1. From the menu, select Server > Hosts.  The Hosts page opens.
  2. Click the hyperlinked host name to select the host of the user for whom you want to import SSH keys. The Host Settings page opens.
  3. From the left navigation menu, select Users. The Users page opens.
  4. Select the user for whom you want to import keys by clicking on the hyperlinked username. The Edit User page appears.
  5. Next to SSH user key, click Manage. The SSH User Keys page opens.
  6. Click Add. The Select SSH User Key page appears.
  7. Click Import. The Import RSA/DSA SSH Key page opens.
  8. Enter the appropriate information for each of the fields.
    • Name. Enter a name for the key. This name is for your reference and is never displayed to users.
    • User key (public). Enter the full path and file name of a key file on your computer, or click Browse.
  9. Click Save. The Select SSH User Key page appears.
  10. Repeat steps 6 - 9 to import or create additional SSH user keys.
  11. Select the key and click OK. The SSH user key now appears in the list of keys on the SSH User Keys page.

To add more SSH user keys:

  1. Click Add on the SSH User Keys page. The Select SSH User Key page appears.
  2. Select a key and click OK. The SSH user key now appears in the list of keys on the SSH User Keys page.
  3. Repeats steps 1 - 2 for each SSH user key you want to add for the user.
  4. Select the keys you want to associate with this user, then click OK.
