Add WMI Performance Counter

The WMI Performance Monitor gathers specific types of information on WMI enabled devices. WMI (Windows Management Instrumentation) is a Microsoft standard for retrieving information from computer systems running Windows. WMI comes installed by default on Windows 2000, Windows 2003, Windows XP, and Windows Vista systems.

• Name. The name of the monitor as it appears in the Performance Monitor Library or in the Performance Monitor list in Device Properties.
• Description. A short statement describing the monitor.
• Performance counter/Instance. Click the browse button next to this box to select a performance counter and instance for the monitor.

Note: When running WhatsUp Gold on Windows 2000, the WMI counter's description is not supported or displayed.
