Advanced SNMP Settings
This dialog is used to set advanced options for an SNMP SmartScan discovery.
- . Enter the timeout in milliseconds (ms). If a device does not respond to the scan within this time, the scan continues on to the next IP address. The Timeout should be set to 300 ms or greater.
- . This is the number of times to try to discover a device at a given IP address, before continuing on to the next device.
- . This sets the levels of your network that you want to scan. With a value of 1, the scan discovers and maps your top-level network and any sub-networks of that top-level. To discover a sub-network within that sub-network, you must enter a scan depth of 2 or greater. The default value of 2 means that the scan discovers and maps the top-level network and two sub-network levels.
- . Select this option to limit the scan to the network class (A, B, or C) defined by the IP address of the root device. If the IP address is within the network class of the root device, the scan proceeds. Otherwise, the scan skips to the next IP address.
- . Select this option to populate the list of discovered devices with host names in addition to IP addresses
