Beeper Action

How to get here

You can define beeper actions to activate a beeper when a device reaches a certain state change. The settings below are used to automatically build a dial string for use by the modem sending the beeper action.

%System.NumberofDownDevices

When a Beeper action is sent, it looks for and returns a device attribute called DeviceIdentifier. If that is not found in Device Properties > Attributes it uses the last two octets of the IP address to identify the device. For example, A numeric message coming across a Beeper when a monitor comes back up is: 0-149-238

The first digit is the number configured in the Up, Down, or Passive Monitor code, the second two sets of numbers identify the device as mentioned above.

Tip: To check the status of an action, or to cancel an action, or group of actions, on the console go to Tools > Running Actions.
