Searching Email

Use the search feature to search a selected mailbox folder for a specific word or phrase. The basic Search tool searches all parts of an email message (for example, To, From, Subject, Body; etc.) You can also use the Advanced Search tool   to search the selected mailbox with more specific search criteria.

To use the basic Search tool:

In the Search box, enter a search phrase, then click Go. If you are looking for a name or email address, enter it.

Multiple word entries are considered a phrase. You do not have to enclose the phrase in quotation marks. For example, the entry, "quarterly earnings report" will search for messages that contain that phrase. It will not search for messages that contain just the word "quarterly" or "earnings," or "report."

To use the Advanced Search tool:

Click Advanced Search to open the advanced search options. Enter search criteria in one or more of the search options:

Search Results

The Search Results list all messages that meet the search criteria. Click a message in the search results list to view the message.
