The Password Reset Settings page gives the System Administrator the ability to enable and configure the password reset option at the domain level. When enabled, the webmail login page will display a "Forgot Password" link when the wrong password is entered. By following the link, the user is able to send a password reset request to an alternate email address. These settings give the IMail Administrator the capability to control the following settings at the domain level:
Tip: The Password Reset Feature cannot be implemented with NT/Active Directory user directory setup.
Tip: Once enabled, webmail users will be prompted to configure an alternate email address provided one has not already been configured. User MUST configure this alternate email address for password resets to function properly.
NOTE: The URL requires the use of HTTPS to secure the password change page.
Currently the default message is as follows:
A password reset request was made on behalf of your account at {IMailHostName}. Please notify your system administrator if you did not initiate this request. To continue with the password reset process click on this link or manually input the following URL.
{PasswordResetURL}
Tip: Be sure to update both the HTML and Plain Text message bodies, as some email clients cannot display HTML which then will display the plain text message.
