The Log Files page shows the log files in the IIM Ipswitch Instant Messaging is one component of the Ipswitch Collaboration Suite. IIM enables teams to communicate instantly with groups around the world or around the corner, and can be installed behind a firewall so interoffice communications never leave the office. syslog The Syslog (also known as the UNIX System Logger or GNU/Linux System Logger) is the system resource for all messages or errors generated by UNIX based systems. In addition to any UNIX computers, hardware components such as routers and firewalls, even on Windows-based networks, can generate Syslog messages.. Log files are named with the format logMMDD.txt where MM is the month and DD is the date.

• Log Files. This column displays the log files in the IMail spool directory. To view the log file, select the hyperlink under the file. A new browser window containing the log appears. To delete a log file, select the check box corresponding to a Log file in the list to the right. Then click the Delete button.
• Size. This column displays the size of each log file.
• Date Created. This column displays the date and time the log file was created.
• Download. Click the hyperlink corresponding to the file you want to download.

  A File Download dialog box appears. Choose one of the following options:

  • Open. The Log file opens in a new browser window.
  • Save. The Log file is saved as an .html file to your local drive.
  • Cancel. The File Download dialog closes and you return to the Log Manager page.

    Important: We strongly recommend using the Download link to view log files over 20 MB in size.

• Delete. Click this button after selecting the log file or files you want to delete.
