New Features and Improvements in MOVEit Automation 2018

The following new features and improvements were added to MOVEit Automation 2018:

• Amazon S3 as a host
  • MOVEit Automation users can interact directly with S3 storage on Amazon AWS. Use MOVEit Automation Web Admin to configure an Amazon S3 host. For more information, see Supported Host Types.

• Inbound REST calls to MOVEit Automation API
  • REST APIs allow you to interact with MOVEit Automation via a RESTful interface.
  • Interactive documentation for the REST API is available at the following URL:

  https://<hostname>:<port>/webadmin/swagger-ui.html

  Where <hostname> and <port> are the values that were provided when MOVEit Automation Web Admin was installed on your system.

  The following APIs are available:

  • Authorization Token - revokes, requests, or refreshes an authorization token
  • Config - download or upload an unencrypted copy of the MOVEit Automation config.xml
  • Hosts - list or get a host
  • Reports - generate an audit report, or generate a file activity or tasks run report
  • Tasks - delete a task, list tasks, list running tasks, get a task, add a new traditional task, start or stop a task, start or stop the scheduler, and update an existing traditional task.

• Integrated PowerShell custom scripts
  • MOVEit Automation users can use MOVEit Automation Web Admin to create, edit, run, and save PowerShell custom scripts. For more information, see Custom Scripts.

• Outbound REST support using PowerShell
  • MOVEit Automation supports tasks using PowerShell scripts to make calls out to other RESTful web APIs, then using the returned data in the task.

• Support for Secure SMTP using the following enhancements
  • SSL/TLS support, including ignoring certificate trust errors,
  • Authentication via user name and password,
  • Specification of a non-default SMTP port number (system-wide only).

• MOVEit Automation version 2018 is a 64-bit application

  MOVEit Automation version 2018 is not available as a 32-bit application.

  Customers that update from a 32-bit version of MOVEit Automation who call third-party 32-bit COM objects from VBScript must find alternatives for these objects, such as 64-bit COM objects.

• Configuration properties

  The user-configurable settings in Web Admin were moved, and are available in the config.properties file. For more information, see config.properties.
