Download Files

• To find the file that you want to download:

  Use one of the following ways:

  • If you received a new file notification, click (or copy into your browser) the link sent in the email. This link takes you directly to the file referenced in the email. (After you sign on, if necessary.)
  • If you received a new package notification, click (or copy into your browser) the link sent in the email. This link takes you directly to the package referenced in the email. (After you sign on, if necessary.) For more information, see Getting Started - Viewing Packages
  • If you know the name of the folder in which your file is located, click the FOLDERS link and navigate to the appropriate folder.
  • If you do not know where the file is, search for it in the Find File/Folder box in the left navigation area. Enter either the NAME of the file (e.g., readme.txt) or the FILEID (e.g., 1234567) and click the magnifying glass to search.

• To download a file:

  Click the download button for the file you want to download.

  

If the MOVEit Upload/Download Wizard is not installed, your browser downloads the selected file per usual browser conventions.

If the MOVEit Upload/Download Wizard is enabled, the steps you take to download the file depend on the type of wizard enabled:

JavaScript Wizard

The JavaScript Wizard does not check download integrity automatically. When you download a file, a Downloads window opens. After the file finishes downloading, optionally click Check. Locate and select the downloaded file. A green checkmark indicates that the integrity check succeeded. A red X indicates a failed integrity check.

You can also perform integrity checks on Recent Downloads from your Home page, if enabled.

ActiveX or Java Wizard

1. The File Download window opens. Make a selection.
   • Open downloads the file to a temporary directory, and runs the associated application based on the file extension.
   • Save prompts you for a download directory.
   • Automatically open/save files like this from now on checkbox. Suppresses the appearance of this dialog box for future downloads of files that have the same file extension as the one you are currently downloading
   • Configure. Click to specify how to handle file downloads

   Click Open or Save.

2. Select a download destination, optionally change the file name, and click Save.

   The file is downloaded. The wizard performs an integrity check.

3. Make a selection: Open the file, Open Folder, Close the wizard, or Unzip (for ZIP files only).
