Quick Install

You need the following to install MOVEit Transfer:

1.

Run the Installer MoveItInstaller

(Click Next to agree to the End User License Agreement)

Choose DB:

  • Express. (Easiest) MySQL server and MOVEit Transfer will be installed in default folder.
  • Custom. You can choose your installation targets and choice of database.

Provide License Key or File

If you download your MOVEit Transfer installer from the customer portal, an activation key will be embedded in the installer file and populated for you automatically.

Otherwise:

  • Enter an activation key, or...
  • Browse for and load the MOVEit Transfer license file.

Note: Choose Offline Activation if the server host you are installing to does not have Internet access.

3.

Select Modules and Launch System Check

  • MOVEit Transfer Server. Includes DB transaction server, Web UI, and console UI. If you selected Express in Step 1, you will also install a MOVEit Transfer MySQL instance.
  • MOVEit Transfer Mobile. Server and presentation for MOVEit Mobile Apps.

4.

User Credentials

(sysadmin password needed for sign on)

 

  • SysAdminPassword. Used for sign on to Web UI. Accept or modify.
  • Windows Service User. User account where MOVEit Transfer runs.

Note: Before you install, the installer allows you to save these settings to a text file.

5.

Host and Mail Service

  • Public URL. Specify a hostname for MOVEit Transfer Web UI.
  • Email Server. Specify an SMTP (email) server used to send notifications.
  • To and From address. Most SMTP servers will not forward emails without a return address.

6.

View Your License Settings

  • View your current license settings...and click Next.
  • Component and application installations begin (takes a few minutes).

 

7.

Add a Certificate

Certificates are needed to enable secure client communication with your site.

  • Create. Generate a temporary certificate.
  • Use existing. Install your site's certificate, or...

8.

Copy Credentials and Proceed

View/copy install details before you install the software to the current system.

Important: You can copy DB, platform User, and application user before you run this step. You will need the admin user credentials for Web UI sign on.

9.

Post Install Checks/Sign On

 

  • Run email relay test. (Optional)
  • Run postinstall checks.
