ActiveX Wizard (when made available by your administrator)
Important: The ActiveX Wizard works with Internet Explorer, only. It is provided for purposes of backward compatibility with legacy MOVEit Transfer sites. It is best practice to use the built-in upload/download manager ("Javascript Wizard") instead.
ActiveX Uploads:
Upload files or folders by dragging and dropping one or more files or folders into the open window from anywhere on your computer, or click the Add File or Add Folder buttons to locate and select them for upload.
To select multiple files in the same folder, press and hold the Control button. The Upload Wizard can upload files from several different directories and drives at the same time. When adding folders, you can upload the files in in This directory and all subdirectories or in This directory only.
Click Next.
Choose how you want to upload files:
Upload files individually: Each file will be logged on the MOVEit with a separate file ID. Optionally select Prompt for "Upload As" names and notes to change the name of the files and/or enter individual notes for each file.
Upload all files as one .zip: Enter a name for the .ZIP file. Optionally select Prompt for individual zip member names. Note: The .zip file format cannot accommodate zipfiles larger than 4GB.
Optionally select Close the Wizard when done. If selected, you can also select Send the package immediately after the Wizard closes.
Click OK.
When the transfer is complete, a transfer summary appears:
Click MY ACCOUNT. Locate the Edit Your Upload/Download Wizard Settings... section
Click Change Upload/Download Wizard Status (ActiveX). If the wizard is not installed, you are prompted to install it.
Click Install the Upload/Download Wizard (ActiveX). When the process is complete, you are returned to the Home page. You can also reinstall or configure the Wizard from the My Account page (if allowed).
You might need to do any of the following:
Change your browser's security settings to permit signed ActiveX controls to be installed in order to complete the process and use all the features of the Wizard, such as the ability to download multiple files at once.
Add any MOVEit site you communicate with into your Internet Explorer list of Trusted Sites.
To change your security settings in this way:
From the Internet Explorer Tools menu select Internet Options and then select the Security tab.
Click the Trusted Sites icon (the green check mark) and then click the Sites button. A list of existing trusted sites appears. Your MOVEit site is listed in the Add this website to the zone text box. Click Add and then click Close.
Internet Explorer MUST be configured to accept SIGNED ActiveX controls and run JavaScript, and the end user must manually click Yes to download/accept/install the Upload/Download Wizard ActiveX control.
To Uninstall the Active X version of the Wizard:
Uninstallation of the Upload/Download Wizard is necessary only for the ActiveX version.
In Internet Explorer, click Tools > Manage Add-Ons.
Select to show Currently loaded add-ons
Select the MOVEitUpDownWiz Class and click Delete.
To reinstall the wizard, restart Internet Explorer and sign on to MOVEit again. On the first page with upload options the MOVEit Upload Wizard will be downloaded and reinstalled.
To Enable the Wizard
Click Change Upload/Download Wizard Status. If the wizard is not enabled, the Enable the Wizard button is available, Click it.
For the Active X Wizard only, you can Enable the Wizard (for this session only).
Configure the Wizard
When the wizards are enabled, you can configure them:
Specify default download actions based on each file type, such as open with a specific application, save to disk, or prompt for what to do.
The Active X wizard gets its proxy settings from Internet Explorer
Wizard Preference (IE and Edge Users)
When enabled, MOVEit Transfer uses the ActiveX in preference to the JavaScript wizard. The ActiveX must be disabled before you can enable the JavaScript Wizard.
After the wizard is enabled, it is available on all pages where uploads are permitted, such as the Folders page and Send Package page.
Note: Download integrity checks are not automatic for the JavaScript wizard. After downloading, you can select the downloaded file to initiate the check.
To Disable a Wizard:
You can disable a wizard that is installed and enabled.
