MySQL database. Remove any local non-MOVEit MySQL versions before you install MOVEit Transfer on the server. The MOVEit Transfer installation program installs the MySQL database.
Account requirements. MOVEit Transfer requires an unrestricted local administrator service account to setup and run the MOVEit services.
Quick install/evaluation scenarios. MOVEit Transfer requires an unrestricted local administrator account for Windows Server. This account owns/runs the MOVEit services.
Production scenarios. (follow the principle of least privilege). Install as a local Windows administrator, but run as a non-admin Windows user with elevated privileges dedicated to MOVEit Transfer. This user will need 'runas' privileges.
Roles and Features. The MOVEit Transfer installation can activate Roles and Features for many of the prerequisites needed.
Windows Firewall. The program creates exceptions in the Windows Firewall to permit connections to MOVEit FTP and SSH.
IPv6 addresses. MOVEit Transfer does not support remote access from IPv6 addresses (clients). To avoid any connection problems, disable IPv6 addresses on the MOVEit server. For more information, see Remote Access.
Domain Controllers. To support installation on Domain Controllers, you must install a network service called File and Printer Sharing.
