Using the WinPopup Action
The WinPopup action displays a user-specified message in a pop-up window on a Windows NT system.
: WinPopup actions are not supported on Windows Vista or later operating systems.
To add a WinPopup action:
- From the WhatsUp Gold web interface, go to . The Action Library appears.
- Click . The Select Action Type dialog appears.
- Select , then click . The New WinPopup Action dialog appears.
- Enter or select the appropriate information:
- . Enter a unique name for the action. This name displays in the Action Library.
- . (Optional) Enter additional information about the action. This description displays next to the action in the Action Library.
- . Specify the Windows NT host or domain that you want to receive this notification.
- . Enter a text message using percent variables if needed.
- . Click to refresh the list. This populates the list with all of the targets you can choose in which to send a Winpopup action.
- Click to save changes.
To edit an existing WinPopup action:
- From the WhatsUp Gold web interface, go to . The Action Library dialog appears.
- Select the action you would like to edit, then click .
- Enter or select the appropriate information:
- . Enter a unique name for the action. This name displays in the Action Library.
- . (Optional) Enter additional information about the action. This description displays next to the action in the Action Library.
- . Specify the Windows NT host or domain that you want to receive this notification.
- . Enter a text message using percent variables if needed.
- . Click to refresh the list. This populates the list with all of the targets you can choose in which to send a Winpopup action.
- Click to save changes.
