Emailing reports and logs
: In some cases, exported reports show more detailed data than that of the data displayed in the report in the web interface. For example, an exported Excel report may contain more data columns, or a floating data point with higher precision.
To email a report as a PDF:
- Open the report you want to email.
- Click .
- Click . The dialog appears.
- Click . Complete the following information:
- . The email address of the account receiving the report
- . The address that appears as the sender of the report
- The subject line appearing in the report email
- . Select to also include the report as a web link
- . When is selected, you can choose to alter the way the URL appears to the end user. This is a useful option if users outside of your network need to access the server using a different name or address than the default address of the WhatsUp Gold server.
- Select the appropriate . See Exporting reports and logs for more information.
- Click .
- Enter the following information for the email server:
- . The name of the mail server
- . If necessary, change the SMTP port number. The default value is 25.
- . The length of time to retry connecting to the SMTP server before abandoning the attempt
- . Select this option if the SMTP server requires authentication.
- . The username WhatsUp Gold uses to authenticate to the mail server
- . The password WhatsUp Gold uses to authenticate to the mail server
- . Select this option if the SMTP server requires an encrypted connection.
- Click to send a PDF email immediately, or click to complete the scheduled email settings. See Scheduling reports for more information.
