Adding and editing a new VMware credential
The credentials system stores VMware authentication data for VMware hosts and vCenter servers in your WhatsUp Gold database to be used whenever authentication is needed to connect to and gather data from the vCenter server or VMware host. For more information, see Using Credentials.
To add or edit a new VMware credential:
- Access the Credentials Library.
- Click to create a new credential or from the list of current credentials, select the credential you want to change, and then click .
- Type or select the appropriate information in the following fields.
- . Type a name for the credential. This name displays in the Credentials Library.
- . Type a short description. This description displays next to the credential in the Credentials Library.. Enter a username. This username is used to authenticate to the device.
- . Type a password. This password is used with the above username to authenticate to the device
- . Re-type the authentication password for confirmation.
- Click to save changes.
