Finalizing WhatsUp Gold Installation Using Failover Features

You must perform the following additional configuration steps to successfully complete installation of WhatsUp Gold using Failover features. When installation of either your Primary or Secondary Failover instance is complete, WhatsUp Gold launches automatically. After logging in with the default administrator account credentials for the first time, errors may be displayed indicating a number of services have stopped. Configure your Failover solution as follows to complete installation.

On both the Primary and Secondary machines:

  1. Select SETTINGS > System Services to launch the System Services panel.
  2. Enable the checkbox to the left of each service displaying a status of Stopped.
  3. Click WUG17.0N-IMG-START_SERVICE to start the selected services.

Then, on the Primary machine only:

  1. Launch the WhatsUp Gold Console Application from the Windows Start menu.
  2. Select Tools > Failover Console from the main menu.
  3. Ensure the Host IP Address displayed for the Secondary site is correct, then click Configure to launch the Failover Service Configuration dialog.
  4. Ensure Use ALL selected services is enabled, then click Advanced to launch the Failover Advanced Configuration dialog.
  5. Ensure Primary credentials and Secondary credentials fields display valid Windows credential sets from the Credentials Library. If you do not see appropriate credentials, browse (...) to the Windows Credentials Library to configure a new set. See Configuring Failover Options for additional details.
  6. Click OK to close both the Advanced and Service Configuration dialogs.
  7. Click Close to exit the WhatsUp Gold Failover Console.
