Prior to installing or upgrading Failover

Important: Prior to installing or upgrading to WhatsUp Gold 2017 Plus with Failover features enabled, please take note of the following information applicable to Primary versus Secondary site license usage. Failure to do so could cause serious issues with your WhatsUp Gold environment.

If you are upgrading an existing WhatsUp Gold Failover installation, your current Primary site, using the WhatsUp Gold Failover Plugin license, must be upgraded using a new

Pro,

Total, or

TotalPlus license first and indicated as a Secondary site. Note that you must indicate this installation will serve as the Secondary site during the upgrade process. Then, your current Primary site, using the

WhatsUp Gold Premium with Failover license, must be upgraded with a new

Failover Manager license. This license has the Primary attribute enabled automatically so there is no need to indicate this installation will serve as the Primary site during upgrade.
