Address Books

The Address Book contains all your public and personal contacts.

Use Contacts to add and manage contacts in Ipswitch Web Messaging. View Contacts from your landing page, or Contacts when viewing mailbox.

From the drop down select the Contacts folder you want to view.

Important. Messages within a folder are permanently deleted when you click Delete. Make sure that there are no messages you want to save before you delete the folder

Important. Contact groups will not display in Web Messaging Lite Help. To update groups the regular Web Client must be used, by unchecking the "Use Web Messaging Lite" checkbox at the login page.

Shared Contact Folders

The shared contacts can be identified by the parentheses with the shared user's name. This indicates that you have been given access to that user's folder. This will assist you in distinguishing between your own personal and public contacts and those who are sharing their contacts with you.

Personal Contacts

When you open your Contacts, a preview of your contacts displays. You can view or edit additional contact information for each contact entry.

Add a Contact:

  1. In the Contacts page, click Add New Contact. The New Contact page opens.
  2. Enter the contact information, then click "Save and Close", or click Cancel to cancel the new contact entry.

    Tip. You can also add a new contact or multiple contacts by selecting the Save Recipients as Contacts option in Preferences, and then entering them as recipients in a new message.

    Tip. Another way to add a new contact is via the Add to Contacts link in the From area of a displayed message. Click the link to add the sender to your contact list.

View or Edit a Contact:

  1. In the Contacts page, click a contact name. The Edit Contact page opens.
  2. View the detailed contact information or enter additional contact information, then click Save and Close. or click Cancel to cancel exit out without saving.

Delete Contact

You can delete a contact from your Contacts list. When you delete a contact, if you are using WorkgroupShare, the contact is removed from your Outlook contacts list the next time Outlook synchronizes with the WorkgroupShare data.

  1. In the Contacts page, click the checkbox next to the contact name.
  2. Click the Delete button.
  3. Confirm Deletion page opens, click Yes to delete the contact.
