Create Ipswitch Analytics Mailbox Retention Policy

The Ipswitch Analytics Exchange Mailbox is used as a persistent work-queue for the Ipswitch Analytics Exchange Agent.  The Ipswitch Analytics Mailbox Retention Policy is configured so that Exchange never deletes items from the Mailbox that have aged-out because of a retention policy.

• To create the Ipswitch Analytics Mailbox Retention Policy:
  1. As Administrator, open the Exchange Management Shell
  2. Execute the following New-RetentionPolicyTag and New-RetentionPolicy cmdlets:

     New-RetentionPolicyTag -Name "IpswitchAnalyticsRetentionPolicyTagInbox" -Type Inbox -RetentionAction DeleteAndAllowRecovery -RetentionEnabled $false

     New-RetentionPolicyTag -Name "IpswitchAnalyticsRetentionPolicyTagDefault" -Type All -RetentionAction DeleteAndAllowRecovery -RetentionEnabled $false

     New-RetentionPolicy "IpswitchAnalyticsRetentionPolicy" -RetentionPolicyTagLinks "IpswitchAnalyticsRetentionPolicyTagInbox","IpswitchAnalyticsRetentionPolicyTagDefault"
