Profile

An Organization Profile displays details about a single organization and provides links to common administrative functions.

• To change an organization profile:
  • Sign in as SysAdmin, and in the Navigation pane, click ORGS. On the Organizations page, click the profile name.

General Information section

To make changes, click Change Information.

• Organization ID: The four-digit ID associated with this organization. Cannot be changed
• Organization Name: The name of the organization. This name is appears to all users in the organization when they sign on, receive notifications, and any messages from the organization
• Short Name: A shorter version of the organization name. Optional. If the same username is used in multiple organizations, the short name is used as an optional sign-on prefix to specify the organization on which to sign on.
• Base URL: The web address (URL) that clients use to access the organization. It is used to generate links in notification emails that are sent by the organization.

  If multiple organizations are in use, each with a different website and SSL server certificate, this URL specifies which website this organization is attached to. Must match the CN on the website's SSL server certificate.

  To use the system-wide default value, leave blank in the Edit General Information screen.

• Mobile URL: The web address (URL) for the mobile app and mobile web. The system default is either 'http://BaseURL:8080/mobile/switch' or 'https://BaseURL:8443/mobile/switch'

  Leave the value blank in the Edit General Information screen to use the default value.

  Note: If MOVEit Transfer server installation was to a Virtual Directory, you must click Change Information and enter a Mobile URL that removes the name of the virtual directory from the Base URL portion of the Mobile URL. (The name of the virtual directory will be in the Base URL and will be the URL users use to connect to MOVEit Transfer and MOVEit Mobile). If you do not perform this step, Mobile App users will receive a 404 Not Found Error.
  
  Example: A server is example.com, the virtual directory is moveit, and the URL for users to use is https://www.example.com/moveit. The default Mobile URL that is provided is https://www.example.com:8443/moveit/mobile/switch. You must change this URL to https://www.example.com:8443/mobile/switch.

  Otherwise, only change this Mobile URL value to reflect changes made to the default Tomcat connection settings during mobile server installation (or if you installed MOVEit Transfer in a Virtual Directory).

  Mobile server installation step

  The related mobile server installation step is shown below. In the example, the hostname and changed port numbers correspond to the BaseURL and port number portions of the Mobile URL.

  Example:

  The Configure Tomcat screen shows the HTTP Connector Port as 8082 and the HTTPS Connector port as 8445.

  Enter either of the following in the Mobile URL

  http://m.moveit.example.com:8082/mobile/switch

  https://m.moveit.example.com:8445/mobile/switch

  

• Notes: This field appears only to SysAdmins. Used for notes about the system. Content in this field does not affect any system settings.

Security Information section

To make changes, click links for the individual line items.

• Secure Connection Requirement: Defines the minimum strength of the SSL connection over which MOVEit Transfer will permit communications. Typically set to 128-bit in a production environment.

  Note: If this value is set on the System organization (#0), SysAdmins can apply the setting to all organizations.

• Administrator Package Access: Settings:
  • Log Viewing: Determines whether administrators can see audit log entries pertaining to packages (Ad Hoc Transfer). Enabled: package log entries are viewable by administrators from the Logs page. Disabled: package log entries are viewable only from the package.
  • Package/attachment Viewing: Optionally allow administrators only, or administrators and GroupAdmins to access user ad hoc packages and files. When enabled, administrators will be able to list user mailboxes, list the packages in those mailboxes, and then read the packages and download the attached files. Such views and downloads will not affect any view or download limits, but will be audited and viewable to the sender and recipients.
• Change Setting: opens the Change Package Viewing Settings page.

  Note: If these values are set on the System organization (#0), they are used as the default and applied to newly-added organizations.

• Act as Admin and Edit: SysAdmins can go directly to an organization page and temporarily perform Admin tasks on that page. Pages: Users, Groups, Folder, Other Settings.
• File/Folder and Ad Hoc-Only: Lists which parts of the user interface appear to the organization's users.

  The Change Setting link is available for organizations that use MOVEit Transfer with Ad Hoc license. For more information, see Change User Interface Settings.

• Maximum User Count: The maximum total user count enabled for the organization. To configure counts for total users, end users, and temporary users, click Change Setting. For more information, see Change Maximum Users Count.
• Prevent Changing Signon/Signoff Logging: Controls whether sign-on and sign-off events for the organization are written to the log.
  • Disabled—logging is not prevented.
  • Enabled—logging is prevented.
