Performance monitors are automatically assigned after discovery based on role. Additionally, you can assign performance monitors manually from the Performance Monitors tab of the Device Properties menu. vCenter servers and their managed virtual machines use the VMware vSphere API to gather statistics for the CPU, Memory, Disk, and Interface Utilization performance monitors.
