Schedule Recurring Maintenance Times

In addition to using device management actions to place devices in maintenance mode manually, you can also specify when a selected device regularly enters/exits maintenance mode without any user interaction using the Device Properties interface.

To schedule recurring maintenance:

  1. Access Device Properties for the device to which you want to apply a maintenance schedule.
  2. Select the Polling tab under Device Configuration.
  3. Click Add (WUG17.1-PLUS-SP1-Add Recurring Maintenance) to launch the Schedule Recurring Maintenance dialog.
  4. Specify the following maintenance schedule details:
    1. Duration Options. Set the hours in which the selected device should be in maintenance mode using the Start and End menus. Please note, if the End time is set 'earlier' than the Start time, the schedule remains active until the End time the following day. The Duration displayed updates automatically based on your selections.
    2. Recurring Options. Indicate how often this schedule should be activated. Please note, the individual recurring options displayed change based on your Daily, Weekly, Monthly, or Yearly selection within the interface.
    3. Schedule Range. Select the date on which this schedule should initially take effect and, optionally if desired, the date on which it will expire. Please note, WhatsUp Gold uses 12:00 a.m. when enabling scheduled maintenance applicable to the effective date while 11:59:59 p.m. is used applicable to the expiration date. Example: If the effective date set is March 1st and the expiration date is set is March 31st, the configured maintenance schedule would be valid from 12:00 a.m. on March 1st through 11:59:59 p.m. on March 31st.
  5. Click OK.

Please note, for maintenance windows which exceed 24 consecutive hours, maintenance mode events can be scheduled adjacent to each other to extend total maintenance time as needed.

You can also edit (WUG17.1-PLUS-SP1-Edit Recurring Maintenance) or remove (WUG17.1-PLUS-SP1-Delete Recurring Maintenance) existing maintenance schedules by selecting the desired maintenance schedule displayed in the Device Properties, then selecting the applicable icon.
