Hot Keys

Ipswitch Instant Messaging allows you to assign a hot key to your Online Status messages. Hot Keys are keyboard shortcuts and can be a single keystroke or a combination of two key strokes.

Note: Changes made to hot key functionality are system wide.

Note: Choose a hot key that's not associated with another application. Hot key functionality, once selected, is universal to your computer's operations.

To assign a Hot Key, complete the following tasks:

1. From the Custom Status Message dialog, select a status and click Edit. The Edit Status Message dialog appears.
2. Choose a hot key combination to assign to the Status. You may select any one of the F1 to F12 keys or a combination of Alt, Control, and Shift with one of the F1 to F12 keys.
3. Click OK.
