POP 3 Check
The feature allows Ipswitch Instant Messaging to alert you when you receive e-mail messages. It works by directly accessing your e- mail server.
The POP3 Check options allow Ipswitch Instant Messaging (IIM) to display a white envelope in your desktop's task tray when you receive an e-mail message.
- . Select the checkbox to enable POP3 checking.
- . Enter the address of your POP3 mail server.
- . Enter your e-mail account as recognized by your mail server.
- . Enter your e-mail password.
- . Ipswitch Instant Messaging will check for new mail once during the number of minutes specified.
If you have multiple e-mail accounts, POP3 Check can only notify you if mail is received for one of them.
To have the system notify you about received e-mail messages, complete the following steps:
- Enable .
- Enter your e-mail server address in.
- Enter your e-mail address account name in. This may differ from your Ipswitch Instant Messaging account name.
- Enter your e-mail address password in . Again, this may differ from your Ipswitch Instant Messaging password.
- In , specify how often you want Ipswitch Messaging to check for new e-mail.
- Click OK .
When a new e-mail message is delivered, appears in your computer's task Tray. Click the envelope to launch your e-mail program.
