POP 3 Check

The POP3 Check feature allows Ipswitch Instant Messaging to alert you when you receive e-mail messages. It works by directly accessing your e- mail server.

Note: If you have multiple e-mail accounts, POP3 Check can only notify you if mail is received for one of them.

To have the system notify you about received e-mail messages, complete the following steps:

1. Enable POP3 3 Check.
2. Enter your e-mail server address in POP3 3 Server. 
3. Enter your e-mail address account name in User Name. This may differ from your Ipswitch Instant Messaging account name. 
4. Enter your e-mail address password in Password.  Again, this may differ from your Ipswitch Instant Messaging password. 
5. In Check mail every ___ minutes, specify how often you want Ipswitch Messaging to check for new e-mail. 
6. Click OK .

Note: When a new e-mail message is delivered, appears in your computer's task Tray. Click the envelope to launch your e-mail program.
