Adding and editing a Log to Text File Action
This action logs custom messages to specified text files.
To add or edit a log to text file action:
- Click the tab, then click .
- Click and select to create a new log to text file action. Click .
- or -
Select the action you want to change from the list of current actions, and then click . - Type or select the appropriate information in the following fields.
- . Type a name for the action. This name displays in the Action Library.
- . Type a short description. This description displays next to the action in the Action Library.Specify a Name for the action as it will appear in the Action Library.
: On the console, click the Browse _ button to browse to the log file.
- . Type the full path to the location where the log file will bee written.
- Select the . Select to have log messages appended to the Log file. Select to have log messages overwrite existing log messages.
- Type the that will be written to the log file. This message supports percent variables. The default log message is:
%Device.ActiveMonitorDownNames is %Device.State on %Device.Type: %Device.HostName (%Device.Address).
